Vintage towels aren't only extremely resistant, they are also extremely fluffy and original. But after they no longer can serve their purpose in the bathroom, they are destined to landfill, where textiles made from natural fabrics rot and produce methane.

Recycling fibre reduces the need for landfill space and saves energy as materials don’t need to be sourced and transported. It also reduces pollution and saves water compared to dying and fixing processes of virgin materials.

Originally from Pforzheim, Germany, Andreas Linzner began developing interest for tailoring at a youthful age with special attention from grandma. Consequentially following studies in men's tailoring from Nuremberg Opera and textile art at the Nuremberg Academy of Modern Arts. He then relocated to Hamburg manifesting a special emotional appreciation for Terry fabric and began experimenting with the fluffy material in 2001.

The first experiments took the shape of pets which are still part of the basic collection. Each is unique made from original vintage terry fabric from the 50's, 60's and 70's quickly causing a stir for their special style.

Andreas Linzner now runs his own shop in Hamburg and has retailers all over Europe.

Terry pets are handmade with love in Bayern, Germany by a small family run company of retirees specializing in production of stuffed animals.

Textiles that are suitable for reuse can be recycled in charity shops or placed in clothes recycling bins.

Textile waste that is not suitable for reuse is first sorted by type, colour and grade. The material is then shredded into fibers. High grade shoddy is mixed with virgin fiber and spun into new fiber. Low grade shoddy will be recycled as wipes, stuffing for cushions, carpet underlay, mattress padding and cotton swabs.
